چکیده

Research department at Encsson Radw Systems. igital cellular andmicrocellularradio systems must incorporate multiple accessschemes that make efficient use of the allocated bandwidth and radio cell infrastructure with minimum cost and maximum performance 111. Time Division M u l l i ~ l e Access (TDMA) is thk multiple access techn6ue of choice for several digital cellular and PCS systcms. For example, it is currently used in the European, North American and Japanesc second generation digital cellular systems (GSM, IS-54, and PDC, rcspectively) [2,3], and in several wireless personal communications systems: the European digital cordless system (DECT [2]), the Japanese personal wirelesssystem (PHs [4]), and thewireless accesssystem proposed by Bellcore (WACS 151 or PACS).

Pre-equalization Techniques for Downlink and Uplink TDD MC-CDMA Systems

Time division duplex (TDD) multi carrier-code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems have recently been proposed as potential candidates for next generation (4G) technology. In order to mitigate multiple access interference, in this paper we investigate pre-equalization schemes for both downlink and uplink transmissions, the former also in a multiple transmit antenna scenario. In particular...

On the Performance of Energy-Division Multiple Access with Regular Constellations

In this paper we describe a multiple-access protocol in which different users are assumed to share the same bandwidth and the same pulse. Users employ the same modulation (binary-phase shift keying, quadrature-phase shift keying, and rectangular-phase shift keying are considered) with different transmitted magnitude, and are discriminated on the basis of the corresponding magnitude at receiver ...

Performance of CDMA/PRMA as an Access Technique for Integrated Services in a UMTS High Altitude Platform System

High Altitude platforms (HAPs) have gained a great interest in recent years. HAP systems will be globally in nature but nationally in service provision. They will deliver IMT-2000 mobile and fixed wireless access using the proposed IMT2000 terrestrial component radio transmission technologies and protocols. Under the above considerations, in this paper the performance of a MAC protocol based on...

Analysis & Design of a Frequency - Hopped Spread - Spectrum Transceiver for Wireless

Personal Communications Services (PCS) require low-power radio technologies. One such transceiver architecture employing frequency-hopped spread spectrum techniques is described. Low power and robustness are two keys to a wireless personal communications device. A frequency-hopped code-division multiple access (CDMA) scheme is chosen over other multiple access methods because it provides an inh...

Erlang Capacity of a Power Controlled CDMA System

A limited amount of bandwidth is allocated for wireless services. A wireless system is required to accommodate as many users as possible by effectively sharing the limited bandwidth. Therefore, in the field of communications, the term multiple access could be defined as a means of allowing multiple users to simultaneously share the finite bandwidth with least possible degradation in the perform...
